The Role

Team Mission:  The quality team is a key enabler to ensuring the design, manufacturing, and operations of SPAN products deliver an amazing customer experience.  This comes through fostering a culture of proactive quality improvement by implementing methods and systems for promoting early failure detection in both the design and manufacturing process coupled with a robust RCCA process that drives improvement early in the product life cycle.

Specific Areas of Focus:  Supplier hardware quality, customer and field product performance, developing and maintaining quality standards for SPAN products, supporting new product development and transfers, engaging with engineering to establish methods for ensuring product archives design and functional specifications.

 

Role & Team Responsibilities:

  • Drive improvements to product and manufacturing quality.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure products achieve design and functional specifications.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators and supporting data systems for trending and on-going analysis of product performance.
  • Utilize problem solving methodologies to determine root cause of problems and implement effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Oversee all SPAN suppliers and production to identify deviations from quality standards and performance.
  • Perform process audits to assess compliance, capability, and supplier effectiveness.
  • Using statistical methods, identify and monitor critical manufacturing processes, raising the alarm when necessary and implementing solutions and countermeasures to ensure consistent production of quality products.
  • Partner with field teams to drive root cause corrective action on product failures with the goal of driving improvements in future product performance.

About You 

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of well-rounded product development experience in quality, manufacturing, and/or engineering environments.
  • BS or MS in engineering or related fields.
  • Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts.
  • Working knowledge of hardware quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations.
  • Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong passion for product quality.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Great team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency with reporting and publishing routine quality reports, and presenting to executives.

Bonus Qualification

  • Experience working at a startup and in new product launch environments.
  • Experience in the Semiconductor, Electrical or Electronics industry is preferred
  • End-to-end system level quality experience with electro-mechanical products.
  • Arena PLM experience 
  • SolidWorks and Agile
  • Confluence and Jira user experience
  • JMP Statistical tool
