YOUR IMPACT

At Proxima Fusion, we are building the future of clean energy, and we need a Procurement Manager who thrives at the intersection of technology and execution. In this role, you will drive the development of a robust and agile supply chain that supports our engineering and R&D ambitions. You’ll be responsible for identifying and partnering with top-tier suppliers, shaping sourcing strategies, and ensuring exceptional standards in quality, cost, and delivery.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

-Strategic Sourcing: Design and execute procurement strategies for highly technical components, services, and first-of-a-kind builds..

-Supplier Management: Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers; strengthen partnerships with existing vendors to uphold high standards in quality, delivery, and cost-efficiency.

-Contract Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations, evaluate bids, and structure deals that manage risk while optimizing performance.

-Supply Chain Development: Build and maintain a robust, scalable, and transparent supply chain that supports both rapid prototyping and serial production needs.

-End-to-End Procurement Operations: Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to contract execution, ensuring compliance with internal policies and process excellence.

-Tool & Process Ownership: Drive improvements in our procurement infrastructure, including systems, databases, and process automation.

-Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the strategic link between engineering, finance, and operations—ensuring procurement decisions are technically sound and aligned with business goals.

-R&D Support: Provide procurement insights to support early-stage product development and prototyping.


WHO YOU ARE

-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.

-Experience: 3+ years in a technical procurement role, ideally in a fast-paced engineering environment developing complex mechanical/electrical systems ( preferably in startup, fusion industry or highly regulated technical sectors like aerospace, defense, med tech). Experience leading team is preferable.

-Technical Acumen: Strong ability to understand technical drawings and specifications; confident in evaluating manufacturing feasibility and supplier capabilities.

-Negotiation Excellence: Demonstrated success in contract negotiation, supplier risk management, and cost/value optimization.

-Strong Communicator: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to build trust with both internal stakeholders and external partners. English is required, German is a plus.

-Tools & Systems: Hands-on experience with procurement platforms, ERP tools, and data-driven decision-making.
