The Role:

  • You will focus on supporting Engineering & Manufacturing activities pertaining to Powertrain Manufacturing. For example, ensure wire bond process documentation meets Lucid’s high standards and processes are being strictly adhered to on the manufacturing line.
  • Work closely with Vehicle Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop new processes, highlight problems and streamline build processes.
  • Monitor end of line (EOL) performance for changes in yield and quality.
  • Clearly document all abnormal findings and required information during engineering builds.
  • Qualifications:

  • General awareness of all the systems in EV Powertrain with thorough understanding and experience on heavy wire bonding applications, specifically on cylindrical battery cells.
  • Strong understanding of heavy wire bond quality issues and root causes.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to work effectively with team members at all levels.
  • Experience in building, testing, and troubleshooting HV battery modules or similar.
  • Working understanding of basic electrical principals.
  • Strong understanding on proper handling of lithium cells, modules, packs, power electronics, & drive unit.
  • Familiar with electrical hazard risks including high voltage systems.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills (English).
  • Can lift 20-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with via team-lift.
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical, mechatronic, or automotive technician experience
  • Education:

  • Minimum:  High School Diploma with significant relevant professional experience
  • Preferred: Technical or Vocational Degree or Certificate
  • Preferred:

  • Experience with Hesse wire bond equipment
  • ASE Certification
  • 2-3 years of experience in building HV batteries.
