Job Description

Lilac Solutions is seeking a talented and experienced Piping Designer to join our team on a temporary basis (4 month contract), with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role based on performance and business needs. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase your skills, contribute to our company's success, and grow with us. The Piping Designer will work closely with engineers and other design professionals to create piping and instrumentation diagrams, 3D models, and layout drawings for lithium extraction facilities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with industry standards and codes and have experience with designing and drafting complex piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and other design professionals to create piping and instrumentation diagrams, 3D models, and piping isometric drawings for lithium extraction facilities.
• Develop piping and equipment layout plans, sections, and details for construction and installation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes, as well as Lilac Solutions' design standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with the project team to develop piping material specifications, including valves, fittings, and materials.
• Review and approve vendor drawings and specifications for purchased equipment packages where piping is part of the package.
• Ensure that designs meet safety, operability, maintainability, and constructability requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-solving efforts.

Candidate Qualifications

• Vocational technical training in basic drafting technology and drafting experience; or an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in Engineering Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in designing and drafting complex piping systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D modeling software.
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes, including ASME, ANSI, and API.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other design professionals.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with petrochem, mining or chemical industries is a preference. 
• Experience with Plant 3D software is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in mineral processing or chemical industries projects
• Experience with Plant3D P&ID is a plus
