About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented People Resource Manager to act in an HR Business Partner capacity for our Midwest-based employees, as we scale operations in the region. You will provide day-to-day support for all employee relations needs in the Midwest, as well as work with other members of the People Team to create and execute on our people-first policies and processes. 

You will: 

  • Onboard new hires to company systems and ensure receipt of proper equipment
  • Support managers in creating onboarding plans for their team
  • Assist in change management for employees changing positions internally
  • Support employee hiring as part of the interview process
  • Provide HR operations support including writing and compliance tracking of policies
  • Provide employee support for payroll and benefits
  • Provide employee relations support including investigations, conflict resolution, documentation, performance improvement plans, and escalating to Director of People Ops as needed
  • Supporting managers through performance review process
  • Offboard employees including collecting equipment, sending exit surveys, deactivating accounts, and in some cases facilitating the planning of termination conversations
  • Serve as point of escalation and advocate for employee concerns

You have experience with:

  • At least three years of HR / People Ops experience, preferably in a venture-backed growth stage company and/or supporting a large hourly workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience in multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.
  • Experience performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs
  • Experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • HR qualification, e.g. SHRM-CP or PHR, a plus

COVID-19 Vaccine Policy:

New employees are required to be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. The definition of fully vaccinated includes a booster for those that are eligible.

You are considered fully vaccinated if: 

  • You have received a full series of the vaccine recently (meaning 2 doses within 5 months for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or 1 dose within 2 months for Johnson and Johnson). 
  • You received your full series over 5 months ago for Pfizer and Moderna or over 2 months ago for Johnson and Johnson, and have also received a booster shot. 

Proof of vaccination is required during the hiring process, and employees will be required to get booster shots as they become eligible to maintain their fully-vaccinated status.  

As federal guidance on booster shots evolves, the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ may change.  

In accordance with EEOC guidance, if you are not vaccinated or do not intend to be due to medical reasons or deeply held religious beliefs, you may make an accommodation request and Square Roots will make a reasonable effort to accommodate you, subject to the requirements of the role you are applying for. 

Failure to be fully vaccinated by start date without a documented accommodation will result in offer rescindment or termination.
