SPAN is looking for a passionate and strategic People Operations Manager to lead our HR and People Operations functions. In this role, you will drive collaboration with all levels of the SPAN team to design, implement and improve programs and processes that impact employee success and happiness. You will be highly independent and proactive in creating positive change in the employee experience that is aligned with our culture, and accommodates a diverse set of needs. To be successful you will bring a bias for empathy, a keen eye for strategic problem-solving, knowledge of U.S. employment policies and experience developing People infrastructure at a dynamic, high-growth company.
In this role, you will:
Design and run the People infrastructure and operations to deliver an outstanding employee experience throughout the full lifecycle of employment
Identify and implement improvements across our People systems, tools and workflows that result in increased efficiency, ensuring they are up-to-date and coordinate well together
Organize, facilitate and continuously improve new hire orientation, partnering closely with Recruiting, Workplace Operations, and managers to create an exceptional first week to 90 days for new employees
Keep abreast of U.S. labor and regulatory laws in order to ensure compliance requirements are met and recommend areas for improvement
Evaluate new benefits to stay competitive, manage open enrollment, and be an ongoing resource for employees to help them understand their benefits
Analyze market compensation data for salary and equity bands across the U.S. to support our People strategy
Provide educational, operational and administrative employee-facing support for day-to-day and ad hoc requests and inquiries throughout the employee lifecycle such as onboarding, offboarding, leaves of absence, and data management
About You
Required Qualifications
3+ years of HR or People Operations experience in a dynamic environment. Start-up or mid-size tech company experience required
Ability to work across multiple systems while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a successful record of streamlining systems and implementing processes at scale that support organizational objectives
Knowledge of human resources planning, compliance, personnel policies, compensation, benefits, and related labor laws (with support from Legal and our external PEO business partner)
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills – able to build relationships with internal and external partners inclusive of different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, ages, religions, work locations, and viewpoints
Resourceful, adaptable, and able to work autonomously
Bonus Qualifications
Experience managing HR and People Operations in multiple worksite locations
Experience implementing and/or managing employee training or learning and development programs
Experience implementing and/or managing performance review and management programs.
Experience improving and/or managing headcount and hiring planning processes
