Your role and your team: 

You will report directly to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering- Facility and Process.

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Manufacturing Engineer. You will be responsible for smooth and continuous prototype and high volume production. The ME team provides the best process & technology solutions and factory support to meet design requirements and business targets in accordance with EASA 21G and EN9100 standards. Your Day to Day:

  • Continuous support to ensure smooth and prototype production of detail part, sub assembly, assembly and installation as required in Lilium production factory.
  • Support state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing process with efficient problem solving and root cause and corrective action expertise
  • Collaborate closely with our other Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production Planning, Logistics and technicians to ensure on time delivery.
  • Continuously review, update and maintain all shop floor work instructions.
  • Mentor your teammates as the resident expert for your factory processes, and spearhead the establishment of pilot production stations to develop stable production processes and prove rate capability. 
  • Maintain released planning, equipment and processes to ensure effective manufacturing routings, times and methods.
  • Provide shop floor support & champion continuous improvement across the entire production network.
  • Support digital processes for high volume production logistics, process definition, and planning.
  • Detailed problem solving of any off standard issues that arise, working and leading cross functional teams, using key tool sets such as 8D, 5 why, root cause analysis and other tools from the Lilium toolkit.
  • Continuous review of the PFMEA RPN's & control plans for each process within the technology area. 
  • Feedback learning from shop floor to the wider plant manufacturing engineering teams such as the Advanced Planning team & new product Introduction teams and design teams contribution to design for manufacturing, scale and value.

Your Profile:

  • Mechanical/ Industrial/ Electrical Engineering degree – excellent grade and industrial internship experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process based with a keen understanding of equipment & tools.
  • Experience in safety-critical industries (e.g., aviation, automotive, military, etc) or high volume production is required.
  • PFMEA & Control Plan experience with end to end deployment.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with a drive to challenge the status quo; eager to learn; puts the team first; resilient with a passion for achieving mission objectives; uses failure as a learning experience; excellent communicator with a high sense of urgency.
  • Hands-on mentality and heavy collaboration with production teams to secure continuous production flow
  • Adept at working cross-functionally, especially with Design Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Program Management, and other cross-business functions.
  • Lean awareness - Simplification mindset, continuous improvement, health & safety conscious.
  • ICT Skills: Microsoft Office, ERP, MES and CAD, Process Planning toolkits
