Your role and your team:                                             

You will work within the Propulsion Integrated Project Team and will be responsible for the design, implementation and validation of models and simulations of the propulsion system and its components for the purpose of design and performance evaluation.  Responsibility also includes successful deployment of the models to the appropriate users throughout the engineering organisation.

Successful candidates must be able to work effectively with subject matter experts across a number of disciplines to model the aerodynamic, thermal and electrical behaviour of the propulsion system.  You will be encouraged to make use of existing and emerging techniques/technologies to accurately model the unique features of the propulsion system as well as minimising development time.

Your day to day:

  • Full life-cycle development of the propulsion system and its components, making use of emerging techniques/technologies where appropriate
  • Develop propulsion system model requirements considering the varied needs of different users
  • Document the design, implementation and testing of models and simulations according to established company processes and methods.
  • Develop automation methods for model development and testing
  • Plan, execute and document the verification and validation strategy for the flight dynamics model
  • Define and quantify model limitations and uncertainties
  • Support project management activities through effective task identification and effort estimation.
  • Actively help shape processes of the department

 Your profile:

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree
  • Min. 5 years of professional experience in the development and deployment of physical system models of electrical machines and propulsion systems
  • Highly skilled in the use of Matlab/Simulink/Simscape
  • High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style is a must
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
