This is what you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of Manufacturing Technical Support Engineers for Normal Plant
  • Drive daily work and provide Level 2 support for plant IT operations for all shifts.
  • Effortlessly engage with internal and external contacts to resolve issues.
  • Responsible for keeping systems running and minimizing mean time to repair
  • Define and develops ITSM processes and metrics to drive performance and process improvements.
  • Manage knowledge repository used by level 1 and 2 support to resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot various Manufacturing application including MES, Quality and other manufacturing applications.
  • Attend in-person meetings with clients to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
  • Drive root cause analysis on critical issues to ensure site reliability.
  • Propose system or business improvements to mitigate future occurrences
  • Schedule staff to ensure coverage to meet production needs.
  • Work with solution request engineering team to provide seamless experience.
  • Manage technical support documentation and instructional guides for future reference.
  • Escalate complex issues to level 3 when needed.
  • Identify repetitive issues and assist in automating or resolving these items to provide the best possible user experience.
  • Available and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to meet operational objectives.

These are the skills you’ll need:

  • Individuals must have 5+ years of experience with complex automated manufacturing systems
  • Experience leading teams and working in a 24/7 environment
  • In depth knowledge of MES systems and technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic, a self-starter with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills along with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • In depth knowledge of Manufacturing IT system communication methods including network architecture, file drop, XML, SOAP, and TCP/IP communication protocols
  • Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL processes and practices.
  • Experience resolving complex issues through root cause analysis.

This is the education and experience you should have:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business, Manufacturing, Industrial, Engineering or a related subject desired.
