What you will do:
Electra is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, seal design, fluid flow, and structural analysis. The Mechanical Design Engineer will focus on the design of electrochemical equipment to ensure long service life, low cost, and efficient operation.
- Design and continuous improvement of novel electrochemical cells, stacks and test systems.
- Perform testing of electrochemical cell components for iterative performance, cost and durability improvements.
- Perform verification and validation testing of the design, operation, and performance of electrochemical cells and stacks.
- Utilize SolidWorks to prepare detailed drawings for components manufacture both in house and through outside vendors.
- Use DFSS and DFM principles to produce robust cell designs.
- Compute load capacities, dimensions, material usage, and produce detailed specifications.
- Develop relationships with vendors and provide product specifications to suppliers.
What we need you to bring to the team:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline.
- 1 year of experience in a Mechanical Engineering design role or equivalent
- Proven proficiency in SolidWorks for design, documentation, and fabrication
- Must have an in-depth understanding and application of quality principles, concepts, practices, and standards. (ASME Y14.5)
- Ability to adapt and find creative solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to adapt, build, refine, or innovate testing tools to meet project needs.
- Ability to think critically and an execution/results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a small, dynamic team.
- Excellent project management skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
