We are seeking a talented and innovative Material Planner to join our rapidly expanding heat pump manufacturing team in Portadown, Northern Ireland.
This role will play a major part in shaping the future of our operations, working closely with internal teams to optimise material availability and inventory, and helping to ensure timely delivery of products to our customers.

What you'll do

  • Execute the material planning process by raising purchase orders for materials to satisfy a high-volume production plans.
  • Generate forecasts and manage replenishment planning for parts and materials to ensure specified service levels are met.
  • Source and procure materials from approved suppliers, understanding delivery solutions and timescales.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address material-related issues and optimise processes.
  • Escalate material availability information to stakeholders across multiple departments and ensure production requirements are communicated and prioritised.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Take the lead in communicating material issues by proactive identification, prioritisation, and tracking. 
  • Provide support and expertise in the maintenance and management of the MRP/ERP system.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders in continuous improvement activities within the material planning function and evolve existing processes through continuous improvement tasks; aiming for greater discipline, control and documentation within all functions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, lead time variance, inventory turnover, stock out rate and on-time in-full delivery, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • What you'll need

  • Proven experience in material planning or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced user of material requirements planning systems / tools
  • Ability to use spreadsheets, databases, shared working environment and other IT programmes. 
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem solving skills and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognising, anticipating, and resolving organisational, operational or process problems.
