BETA Technologies is creating an electric transportation ecosystem that’s safe, reliable and sustainable. A relentlessly focused team is building an extensive charging infrastructure and ALIA, the world’s most technologically advanced electric vertical aircraft (EVA).
BETA’s platform and products are strikingly simple. Prioritization of safety and a pragmatic approach to certification drive elegant redundancy, appropriate diversity of implementation and simplicity of control. ALIA’s fixed-pitch propellers and centrally located batteries make it an inherently stable aircraft that is safe to fly and easy to maneuver.
Beta Technologies is looking for an experienced Mass Properties (Weights) Engineer to join the team developing ALIA, an all-electric, vertical takeoff, electric aircraft (eVTOL). The ideal candidate is someone who has, above all, excellent collaborative skills. The ability to work with design teams, suppliers, and partners throughout the development of the aircraft and track the weight status of each commodity and ultimately the entire aircraft is essential.
This role will require developing the weight tracking tools throughout the development of ALIA as it progresses from a CAD model to certified vehicle. As the first parts are built the weight reports will be updated to reflect actual weights. The weight tracking tool must be able to forecast the aircrafts weight at entry into service, as well as any risks and opportunities to the overall weight. The Mass Properties Engineer will support and track weight savings opportunities and the mitigation of risks. A weight and balance tool must also be developed before the aircraft goes into service.
