What You’ll Do:
As an Electric Propulsion System Manufacturing Technician, you will be in a hands-on role assembling components for our Midnight aircraft. The process is mostly manual assembly, so following work instructions with close attention to detail and high quality standards will be the most important aspect of this role.
- Assemble and test custom mechanisms
- Assemble the integrated tilt mechanism, engine, and propeller system
- Work closely with the engineering teams to support process validation
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues
- Debug issues during assembly and test processes
- Ensure all quality standards are followed to ensure safety of aircraft
- Build basic lab fixtures and tools, and give feedback for improvements
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Perform inspections and measurements of product dimensions using basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, feeler gauges, measurement microscope, borescope, etc.)
- Document and report quality findings
What You Need:
- Associate's Degree, or 5+ years in aerospace (preferred) or automotive industry
- Direct hands-on build experience with mechanical assemblies using technical documentation with strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with fastening operations, bearing presses, and other mechanical assembly processes
- Ability to follow formal build instructions and document any deviations from those instructions or requirements
- High workmanship standards with attention to detail
- Proficient using Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge of drafting standards (read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings) to understand parts and assemblies
- Experience using measurement and inspection (calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, feeler gauges, measurement microscope, borescope, etc.)
- Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization methods
- Experience following all aspects of maintenance safety protocol (LOTO, 5S, Arc Flash, etc.).
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience using ERP and MES softwares
- Experience working with safety critical aerospace components
- Experience working in an R&D environment
