Your role and your team:  

You will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Operations Manager and work closely with our highly specialized Team.  

The Manufacturing Lab team takes care of all part manufacturing processes by integrating many fabrication technologies. It incorporates capabilities such as Metrology, CNC Machining, ToolMaking, 3D Printing and some final assembly processes.   

We are looking for a motivated and positive Manufacturing Engineer who will be hands on in the manufacture of Lilium’s revolutionary product. As part of this role, you will be working on a daily basis on the general process development, scheduling system, documentation creation in the Metal prototyping workshop. Furthermore, you will assist by providing support in building the systems around the operations. Your Day to Day: 

  • Be responsible for Production requests clarification, analysis
  • Give guidance to customer using your creativity, experience and problem solving skills to provide effective solutions.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to ensure optimal component manufacture.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the different Work documents necessary for operational work:
  • Filling the different work instructions and Project Documents.
  • Assembling the Work Traveller document package according to the manufacturing process/sequence.  
  • Making the analysis and evaluation of each request in order to select the best manufacturing strategies, manufacturing time.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end follow up of the different projects.
  • Prepare the purchase lists along with Procurement team to ensure the stock levels as well as other purchases necessary for the realization of the different projects.
  • Gather status information from the different execution areas by making visible and transparent communication of the status of the different requests.

Your Profile: 

  • Educational background as Mechanical Engineer.
  • Excellent knowledge of most common manufacturing processes (Machining, Welding, Assembly).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings end 3D Models
  • Proven track record in root cause analysis and hands-on troubleshooting. 
  • Ability to work with different IT tools (Excel, PowerPoint, MES, ERP)
  • Experience with the creation of project related documentation in relation to the fabrication of different parts and/or assemblies 
  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions depending on situation.
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously with tight deadlines and urgencies.
  • Entrepreneurial and Solution oriented mindset and get done attitude.
