Lucid is looking for an experienced attorney to join our legal team. This role will be a key member of Lucid Legal that will help develop and operate the company’s critical compliance programs related to sanctions and trade controls, export controls, forced labor/supply chain, and import issues, including customs and tariffs.

The Role
Design and operate the company’s sanctions and trade-related compliance programsLead sanctions and trade-related compliance for the appropriate business and engineering leadership and their teamsLead advice on Foreign Trade Zone complianceProactively provide concise, practical and actionable advice to business and engineering teams to advise on trade issues and mitigate compliance risks and import complianceDevelop and implement written compliance policies and procedures related to sanctions and export controlsServe as subject matter expert on FTZ, import, sanctions and trade controls issues within Lucid’s legal teamAdvise on contractual engagements and protections as neededResearch and track trade-related legislation, regulations and significant enforcement matters and identify opportunities to partner with Public Policy group to influence regulatory landscapeCoordinate with regulatory and government officials at various levels, provide required notices and filing, and respond to government inquiriesDesign and implement trainings for business and engineering teams on sanctions and trade topicsConduct investigations into violations of law, regulation or company policy in relation to sanctions, trade and/or other issues arising within the Ethics & Compliance departmentWho you are
Juris Doctor and membership in good standing in at least one state barMinimum of 10 years of relevant work experience at a law firm or in-house corporate role or in a related fieldStrong knowledge of and experience with US sanctions and trade control laws and regulations Consistent good judgment and ability to apply legal knowledge and common sense to help solve important business challengesDemonstrated ability to manage a complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issuesExcellent analytical, written and verbal skills with the ability to present information, including complex legal matters, clearly and conciselyInterpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and establish credibility with senior leadership and colleaguesAble to travel periodically and as needed
