We are seeking an Engineer Manager to lead a team of engineers and work closely with ML teams to build tools and data pipelines to support ML data collection and labeling. Data collection is the core stage of data-driven ML development and is critical to model training and performance evaluation.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $210,000-$264,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

In this role, you will
Lead and inspire a team of engineers, and develop their careers by identifying opportunities and delivering impactful results.Architect and develop tooling for data mining, data labeling, and quality control such that other AI teams can leverage high-quality data to train and evaluate their models.Define the product roadmap that meets the needs of 10+ ML teams and collaborate with other infrastructure teams to share milestones and enhance pipeline efficiency.Scale operations across hundreds of human labelers to fulfill data needs across AI, hardware, and data science teams.Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in ML data products to continuously innovate the data-driven ML development process.Qualifications
5+ years of engineering experience in full-stack application development.2+ years of engineering management experience that demonstrated the ability to develop people and build a strong teamExperience designing and building modern data-intensive web applications such as data warehouses, data processing tools, or data visualization tools.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and support other teams.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.Bonus Qualifications
Experience with AWS, especially EC2, S3, RDSExperience with Databricks and SparkExperience with Data Pipelines and orchestrators such as AirflowExperience in ML-related development or the autonomous driving industry.
