Role Description
We are looking for a Manager in Global Supply Management to lead sourcing efforts for critical components of Form Energy’s long duration energy storage systems. This person will be responsible for setting strategies and leading team members responsible for selecting and negotiating with vendors to deliver high quality, low cost materials and components that meet Form’s aggressive performance, cost, and timeline requirements. The responsibilities cover end-to-end oversight, from market analyses, trend spotting, and supplier development to NPI, cost reductions, risk management, and continuous improvement to ensure Form is delivering the best-in-class solution. 
 
This person will be both the internal and external point of contact for sourcing and procurement of these critical components. The role will report to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain, and engage cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams. In particular, this person will engage with Systems Engineering and Advanced Development teams to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturing targets for critical materials and components.

What you'll do:

  • Develop strategies and clear roadmaps to deliver against aggressive cost targets and deployment timelines for Form’s novel long duration energy storage systems.
  • Own responsibility for identifying, developing, negotiating, and managing relationships with vendors to supply critical materials for Form’s energy storage products. Scope will include both active and inactive materials, as well as contract manufacture and assembly of certain components.
  • Perform market analyses, define cost structures, develop should-cost models, forecast industry trends and risks, and leverage expertise to ensure Form is working with and procuring from best-in-class suppliers to meet our cost and growth targets.
  • Execute and ensure compliance with robust commercial terms while managing supplier risk.
  • Work with engineering and development teams to define and optimize cost, performance, and commercial targets for critical materials and components.
  • Work with finance to define long term cost planning and minimized BOM costs for Form systems.
  • What you'll bring:

  • Quantitative, analytical, data-driven decision maker
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, engineering or other quantitative discipline; MBA a plus
  • 5+ years experience in supply chain, consulting, or commodity trading; Experience in manufacturing, metals, battery, and/or chemical industries a plus
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize efforts, and effectively communicate progress and strategic roadmaps
