Aurora’s Engineering team is a collaborative, customer oriented group that cares deeply about solving real world problems with quality and care. The team brings deep industry knowledge and technical rigor, and works closely with Product and Design in a unified PDE triad. We’re looking for a manager who can help grow and support our Poland engineering team, strengthen product velocity, and foster accountability. You will coach and develop talented engineers, helping them expand their impact while ensuring strong alignment with our North America organization.
As Aurora Solar’s Manager of Engineering, you will hire and lead our first team of engineers within our first European hub. You will guide execution of product development work that spans the lifecycle of distributed solar from customer acquisition to system design, financing, permitting, and installation. You’ll play a key role in hiring, developing, and mentoring engineers and ensuring the team is connected to and aligned with U.S. based Engineering, Product, and Design partners.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on manager who focuses on building a strong team, executing against company priorities, and driving continuous improvements to our engineering practices. You’ll help your team operate with clarity, urgency, and impact while collaborating closely across time zones.
Lead day to day engineering execution in Poland, delivering high quality solutions which address customer needs across the solar lifecycle.
Translate company and product priorities into clear team goals and deliverables. Ensure engineers in Poland understand the broader vision and how their work contributes to Aurora’s success.
Adopt and promote modern development practices, including AI assisted coding, automation, and efficient workflows to enhance team velocity and quality.
Build and mentor a strong local engineering team. Support career growth, foster accountability, and create an environment where engineers can do their best work.
Collaborate closely with U.S. based Engineering, Product, and Design partners. Maintain strong communication across time zones to ensure Poland engineering efforts accelerate global product delivery.
Help shape the team’s culture and processes in Poland, contributing to a sustainable and scalable foundation for Aurora’s European engineering hub.
5+ years of engineering management experience, including partnering closely with product managers.
Demonstrated success growing and supporting high performing engineering teams, with experience mentoring engineers and helping them achieve career growth.
Familiarity and curiosity with modern AI/ML development tools, including coding assistants and automation workflows.
Deep technical expertise with the ability to review designs, guide technical tradeoffs, and ensure sound engineering decisions. This role is a true hands on position, requiring not only leadership and mentorship but also active hands on contribution including writing code alongside the team when needed.
Experience working closely with Engineering, Product, and Design partners to align priorities, streamline execution, and deliver customer focused solutions.
Strong communication skills across time zones and cultures, with a track record of collaboration in fast paced product development environments.
A data driven mindset, using operational and product insights to guide team decisions and improve delivery.
Experience in at least one of the following interpreted languages: Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP, etc.
Experience in at least one statically typed/strongly typed/compiled language: Java, C, C++, etc.
Must be currently living in Warsaw, Poland or within commuting distance to an office within Warsaw. This role will be hybrid work style and require three or more days in the office per week.
Background in vertical SaaS platforms, especially those involving workflow automation, complex data handling, or third-party integrations.
Experience with applied technologies such as CAD, EDA, or computer vision.
Familiarity with clean tech, solar, or related industries.
Experience contributing to software platforms serving diverse, international customer bases.
Exposure to using product usage data to improve systems through smarter features, personalization, or intelligent automation.
Experience working on solutions requiring multi-party workflows and cross-team coordination.
