Our rapidly growing Finance & Accounting team of mission-driven, climate enthusiasts is passionate, innovative and committed to a better future for the planet. We are looking for a Manager of Accounting to help us develop core operation processes within Accounting. This role will oversee general accounting functions. You will be hands-on, understand accounting operations, and have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. You will also play an important leadership role in the Accounting organization around change management, improving processes, scaling accounting company infrastructure, and operations.
How you’ll help: 
  1. Take ownership of and direct monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
  2. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and prepare flux analysis for various G/L accounts
  3. Oversee all aspects of accounts payable operations,  revenue and receivables, accounting for deferred acquisition costs, inter-company transactions and other key expense areas
  4. Provide support on the launch of new products/business initiatives, external audits and ad hoc requests
  5. Collaborate with the FP&A function on KPI’s and budget to actual analysis 
Some 1 year deliverables:
  • Optimize the close process (currently 4 days) with more streamlined/automated processes  to reduce close to 3 business days
  • Support/build accounting processes around the launch of new products
  • Support completion of annual audit on determined timelines
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
  • Must Have
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related discipline if coupled with accounting experience
    • 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting 
    • Experience leading accounting operations, monthly accounting close, and preparation of financial reports
    • Demonstrated experience creating process efficiencies and improvements around month-end close and dependent processes. 
    • Experience leading and developing a team of accounting professionals
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Nice to Have
    • 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting with at least 2 years in public accounting
    • Experience scaling an accounting team to support an evolving business infrastructure
    • NetSuite experience  
    • CPA (or equivalent) license
