Your role and your team:

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Manufacturing Engineer who applies Lilium’s revolutionary product & business model to the development of a state-of-the-art production system. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will lead the definition of our end-to-end date processes, including physical and business processes.

In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Operations Manufacturing Engineering and work closely with our Ground & Maintenance Team and Flight Test Team. The Ground & Maintenance Team takes care of all jet related maintenance processes, handling and testing the aircraft on ground. It incorporates functions such as Aircraft Assembly, Flight Testing, Logistics, Planning & Control, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. 

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Aircraft Maintenance and Service expert to join our team of manufacturing engineers focused on producing and maintaining Lilium’s state-of-the-art aircraft systems. As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Maintenance, you will enable the Aircraft Maintenance Team to maintain all aircraft systems and guarantee an aircraft availability all time to serve our challenging flight test program.

You will be responsible for defining and assuring aviation-level quality for all components, collaborating with our product design engineering teams to enforce design-for-maintenance, and bringing to life a lean, mechanized, and people-focused execution system.

Your Day to Day:

  • Drive “Design for Scale” and “Design to Value” for the Maintenance and Service scope to secure type certification standard
  • Drive capability acquisition of new technologies, systems, and factories to establish a state-of-the-art and scalable maintenance process
  • Collaborate closely with our Engineering and Quality teams to develop, manage, and grow the value stream to enable fast Issue and non-conformance management
  • Mentor your teammates as the resident expert during translating maintenance data into operative instruction
  • Provide and enable release to service processes to enable maintenance cycle times
  • Be an proactive part of a diverse team of multi skilled part 66 technicians as well as ME’s with many years of aviation experience to facilitate fast sustainable decision making
  • You will create and update work plans, work instructions and operations including production processes and time data, determination of the necessary production capacities to secure quality standards and efficient assembly processes

 

  • Your Profile:
  • Aeronautical /Mechanical/ Industrial/ Electrical Engineering degree – excellent grade
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering focused on aircraft maintenance and service.
  • Experience in safety-critical industries (e.g., aviation, healthcare, military, etc) is required
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with a drive to challenge the status quo; eager to learn; puts the team first; resilient with a passion for achieving mission objectives; uses failure as a learning experience; excellent communicator with a high sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated expertise with FOD and Tool Control processes as well as log-book process as guiding principle in a MRO (Part 145) organisation
  • Hands-on mentality and heavy collaboration with the teams to secure continuous flow
  • Experience in creation of maintenance instructions, assembly / disassembly procedure and non-conformance documentation
  • Proficient in Simplified Technical English (STE) is beneficial
  • Adept at working cross-functionally, especially with Design Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Program Management, and other cross-business functions.
  • Lean awareness - Simplification mindset, continuous improvement, health & safety conscious.
  • ICT Skills: Microsoft Office, ERP, MES and CAD
