About This Role:

As a Low Voltage Switchgear Assembly Technician at Crusoe, you will play a vital role in the assembly and testing of critical electrical components for our AI data centers. You will be a key member of our production team, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our switchgear, which forms the backbone of our power distribution system. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly:

    • Assemble low voltage switchgear according to detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.

    • Install various components such as circuit breakers, bus bars, relays, transformers, and control wiring.

    • Perform mechanical assembly of enclosures, mounting rails, and support structures.

    • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for assembly tasks.

    • Follow established procedures and quality standards to ensure consistent and accurate assembly.

  • Wiring and Connections:

    • Terminate and connect various types of electrical wires and cables.

    • Ensure proper crimping, lugging, and labeling of connections.

    • Verify wiring continuity and accuracy using multimeters and other testing devices.

    • Adhere to color coding conventions and wiring standards.

  • Testing and Quality Control:

    • Conduct functional testing of assembled switchgear to verify proper operation.

    • Perform insulation resistance tests, voltage withstand tests, and other quality checks.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve any assembly or wiring issues.

    • Maintain accurate records of test results and quality inspections.

  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols related to electrical work.

    • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    • Participate in safety training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in electrical or electronics fields is preferred.

  • Experience: 2+ years of proven experience in the assembly and wiring of low voltage switchgear or similar electrical equipment.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of electrical principles and safety practices.

    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

    • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.

    • Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with various switchgear brands and configurations.

  • Knowledge of industrial control systems and automation.

  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC).

  • Forklift certification

Compensation:
Compensation will be paid in the range of $20-25/hour. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
