We are currently seeking a Logistics Planning and Execution Liaison in the Phoenix / Tempe / Casa Grande, AZ area . 
This position supports the Corporate Logistics organization by facilitating inbound logistics planning and execution of global component shipments supporting our automotive manufacturing operations in Arizona.  This individual contributor role performs a variety of logistics related tasks, applying operational knowledge and judgement to accomplish team goals. The role involves leading various projects to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in our logistics network. The successful candidate will have a background in logistics and spent time launching new plants and/or new products in a manufacturing environment. This position requires a close partnership with Material Planning, Supply Chain Management, Inbound Logistics and our Logistics Operations Center (LOC) to implement new routing, mode and manage logistics network changes. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly within a fast-paced start-up type environment.

You Will:

  • Help drive identification, analysis, design, and implementation of logistics supply chain solutions that reduce costs, increase margins, and improve the level of service.
  • Good understanding of logistics operations including mode(s), service levels, logistics providers, lead-time, cost(s) and current global logistics market factors.
  • Daily interaction with materials planners, logistics operations, procurement, carriers and part suppliers to drive continuous improvement opportunities for inbound logistics.
  • Familiarity with technology (such as route planning software or Transportation Management System – TMS) to help plan and execute logistics operations is a plus.
  • Analyze and identify non-conformances to logistics plan and ensure corrective actions identified & implemented.
  • Support logistics network optimization activities with plant-specific requirements, operational feasibility reviews, and implementation support.
  • Develop KPIs and reports for internal and external customers, support SAP logistics master data efforts.
  • Travel requirements 5-10%
  • You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering preferred; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Operational experience in an automotive environment with logistics, transportation with global trade experience is a plus
  • Candidate must have a proven track record of taking the initiative, dealing with ambiguity, problem solving and leading change
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in start-up environment and drive projects to completion in a timely and manner
  • Good computer proficiency in MS Office and SmartSheet applications 
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral presentations and written reports
  • Candidates with SAP experience are preferred
  • Experience with TMS software applications is a plus
  • Local candidates preferred
