We are looking for an Loads and Dynamics Team Lead who will:

The successful candidate will spend time on both management and technical tasks. They will be responsible to ensure the growth in knowledge, tools, processes and methods in their disciplines, as well as the development and operational management of their team.

As a functional position, the Team Lead will look after the “how” and “who” aspects of supporting our company and its projects. They will ensure that resource allocation is appropriate, aligned with overall business requirements and that our capabilities are developed to support anticipated and planned future needs.

The responsibilities and duties of the Loads and Dynamics Team Lead will be as follows:

  • Undertaking technical work in their discipline at a level equivalent to a Senior Engineer
  • Co-ordinating with project focals to understand programme priorities and deliverables in order to appropriately prioritise tasks and resources within their team
  • Setting task and development objectives for the team and individual team members
  • General mentoring and coaching of the team, including regular one-to-one meetings and identifying appropriate training and development activities
  • Managing team governance, including running team meetings and representing your team at the department-level and meetings external to the department
  • Ensuring that regular administrative tasks are completed, such as holiday approval, sickness reporting and probation tracking and sign-off
  • Championing individuals to HoD for annual performance calibrations and recommending team members for promotion
  • Developing multi-year plans within their disciplines, which align with the company vision and ensure that there will be appropriate capability progression for processes, tools, methods, knowledge and skills within the domain

The successful Loads and Dynamics Team Lead will have the following Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of generating aircraft loads data to support the design and certification process
  • A good understanding of how aeroelastics, flutter, structural modes, rotor dynamics and aeroservoelastics influence the design and certification of novel-configuration vehicles
  • Knowledge of the vibration environment seen by the airframe and systems of such novel vehicles
  • Appreciation of aircraft-level requirements and how they drive the aircraft development and certification processes
  • The capability to perform technical tasks at the level expected of a Senior level Engineer within the discipline
  • Effective communication with stakeholders in all teams they interact with
  • The ability to lead, supervise, develop and inspire a team to achieve business objectives
  • That they can look to the future and understand the route we must take and the capabilities we must put in place to achieve great things
