CFS is seeking a highly motivated lead quality control technician to provide direct supervision for ~6 highly motivated quality technicians supporting multiple shifts and sites, responsible for ensuring the quality of critical components and materials for use in the SPARC project. The lead QC technician is also responsible for acting in an individual contributor capacity, performing critical mechanical inspections as required.
The successful candidate will be an excellent cross-functional communicator, who is operationally minded in their approach. The candidate shall have a technical background in mechanical inspection, and experience leading technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This team member will:
Direct supervision responsibility for QC technicians supporting multiple sites and shiftsThe responsibilities of the team include receipt inspection, calibration, in-process inspection, metrology services, and management of non-conforming material movementsRepresent the QC team at daily operations tier meetingsManage the daily priorities of the QC technician teamMaintain a skills matrix for QC techniciansConduct dimensional inspections of high precision components during receiving, in-process and pre-assembly stages as requiredPrepare and document detailed inspection reports and nonconformances as neededReviews blueprints and documentation to ensure appropriate materials are used and specifications are followedInterface with extended staff on issues related to quality and help them in understanding and interpreting quality specifications and technical drawingsServe as an SME in advanced dimensional inspection techniquesHold regular 1 on 1’s with direct reports and key stakeholdersThe ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:
High school diplomaGD&T TrainingTraining in advanced metrology techniques5+ years of experience in advanced mechanical inspectionsExperience leading manufacturing teamsKnowledge of CMM and portable metrology equipment (laser scanner, arm, etc.)Experience managing daily priorities for a teamExperience serving as a technical mentorUnderstanding of standard machining processesExperience communicating to internal and external stakeholdersProficient in interpretation and usage of ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)Be able to set up, maintain, and use varieties of inspection hand tools (caliper, micrometer, bore gages, rings & plug gages, profilometer, coating thickness gage, comparator, sine bar, etc.)CMM, Romer Arm, etcAdditional preferred experience and/or qualifications:
