Lead Culinary Specialist

Hi. We're Impossible Foods, and we make meat, dairy and fish from plants. Our mission is to make the global food system truly sustainable by eliminating the need to make food from animals. Why? Animal agriculture uses a tremendous amount of the world's natural resources. In 2016, we launched our first product, the Impossible™ Burger. It's delicious, nutritious, and made using but a small fraction of the land, water and energy required to make meat from a cow.

This role is primarily a function of the Sales Team, and is responsible for partnering with our Account Executives and cross functional partners to prospect, pitch, and grow future and current customer opportunities as a culinary expert for Impossible products. As a Culinary Specialist, you will establish rapport with customer Innovation and Operations teams to sell our products with trend-forward applications and solution-based suggestions to seamlessly integrate Impossible onto menus and into customer BOH operations. We are looking for a strategic thinker that approaches our partnership opportunities by thinking critically, creatively and comprehensively.


You Will:

  • Be a culinary liaison between Impossible Foods and our largest food service customers
  • Present Impossible to customers through concept/capability presentations following industry trends and insights
  • Research operator concepts in order to align product vision
  • Communicate product desires of the customer internally and externally
  • Serve as a partner for customer troubleshooting and culinary solutions
  • Align internal teams (R&D, Product, Manufacturing, Sales) around the best culinary solution for the customer and Impossible Foods
  • Travel up to 50% for customer meetings, events, etc.


You Have:

  • 8-10+ years of technical experience (experience in kitchens, working with large restaurant operators, crafting customized technical culinary solutions)
  • A genuine interest and passion for Impossible Food's mission
  • Recent experience growing a brand and pioneering culinary sales
  • Ability to present Impossible product(s) through culinary demonstration & presentation
  • A mix of large and small manufacturer experience in your background
  • The ability to think creatively and critically, can quickly learn new concepts and seeks to resolve sophisticated problems
  • The ability to be a structured and organized problem solver who can drive projects to completion with minimal direction; attention to detail and ability to deep-dive when vital
  • A growth mindset - you are curious, seek help from others, openly accept feedback, and capitalize on setbacks to move forward more effectively
  • A bias towards action - you have an entrepreneurial mindset, can make and own decisions, and you adopt our “Blast Ahead” mentality of grit, action, and perseverance
  • Highly collaborative approach with ability to work closely with people from all types of functions (Sales, R&D, Product, Operations, etc.)
  • Proven success working independently and navigating in a constantly evolving (and exciting) high growth environment
  • This position is based in Redwood City, California - up to 50% travel
