This role is critical to the success of new vehicle launches and requires strong technical and leadership skills. The Launch Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the repair and preparation of launch vehicles, managing a team of up to 20 technicians, supporting new parts trials, and handling all non-customer (pre-production or test) vehicles. 

Position is primary for first shift, but second shift support may occasionally be required 

 You Will:

Vehicle Repair & Preparation:

  • Diagnose and repair launch vehicles to ensure readiness for testing, display, or evaluation.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet launch readiness and safety standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of up to 20 employees including technicians and support staff.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.

New Parts Trials:

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to participate in trials of new or revised vehicle parts.
  • Provide feedback on performance, fit, and installation process.

Non-Customer Vehicle Management:

  •  Oversee the handling, tracking, and documentation of all non-customer (pre-production, prototype, test) vehicles.
  •  Ensure proper storage, usage, and disposition according to program timelines.

Process Improvement:

  • Calibrate with all department managers to ensure availability of necessary resources, such as equipment, tools, spare parts, and labor, for smooth repair operations.
  • Maintain high-quality repair standards by conducting regular inspections, implementing quality control measures, and addressing any deviations or issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/ GED required. 
  • One to three years of industrial manufacturing supervisory or similar leadership experience preferred.
  • Must have strong computer skills with the ability to extract and analyze production data, generate performance reports, build detailed Excel spreadsheets to support general assembly planning and scheduling, and confidently present data insights to upper management during zone reviews
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build outstanding teams and interface well with senior management.
  •  Experience methodizing production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in factory environments hiring and training associates to support new products and processes.
  • Exemplary verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement & Kaizen 5S.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma process preferred.
  • Capability to implement and drive a quality operating system within a department.
