What You’ll Do

  • Design, build and operate integrated test labs to support the development and certification of Archer’s eVTOL aircraft
  • Work with subsystem stakeholders to develop test lab equipment mechanical requirements
  • Design test rigs and test benches to be used in hardware integration test labs
  • Select components to be used in lab builds
  • Manage external suppliers to procure lab components and/or manufacture Archer designed test equipment and oversee fabrication through final buy-off
  • Aid technicians in installation and check-out of test equipment to ensure proper function

What You Need

  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience with either product design and/or test equipment in aerospace, automotive, or a related industry
  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with aerospace or automotive lab test hardware
  • Strong mechanical design skills with the ability to own a project from requirements through detailed design and fabrication
  • Hands-on skills with both mechanical and electrical systems 
  • Comfortable with assembling and modifying custom hardware and wiring harnesses

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter
  • Experience with finite element analysis
  • Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition equipment
  • Experience with electric motors and high voltage systems
