YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking an IT Operations Intern to help keep Proxima Fusion’s IT systems reliable, secure, and efficient. You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations across the company — helping users, maintaining hardware and software systems, and contributing to automation and process improvements as our organization grows. This internship provides hands-on experience across multiple IT domains, working directly with the systems that power a cutting-edge scientific and engineering environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• User and System Support: Provide first-line technical assistance to internal users, troubleshooting issues with hardware, software, and connectivity.

• Access and Identity Management: Help manage user accounts, access permissions, and application provisioning across key platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta, or Active Directory).

• Device and Software Provisioning: Assist with preparing, configuring, and maintaining laptops and software in accordance with company standards.

• Automation and Process Improvement: Support efforts to streamline IT operations using scripting tools (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).

• Cloud and Infrastructure Management: Participate in the upkeep and monitoring of cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, GCP), ensuring reliable access and performance.

• Security and Compliance: Contribute to enforcing IT security policies, including endpoint protection, updates, and data compliance procedures.

• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain IT guides, FAQs, and documentation to improve support efficiency and consistency.

WHO YOU ARE

• You’re motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how professional IT operations work in a dynamic, high-tech environment.

• Basic familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).

• Some experience with IT tools like Google Workspace, Active Directory, or MDM platforms (Intune, Jamf, JumpCloud).

• Understanding of basic networking or cloud concepts.

• Prior exposure to technical support or IT service tasks (through studies, projects, or part-time roles).

• You don’t need years of experience — what matters most is curiosity, reliability, and a hands-on approach to solving problems.
