ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for the overall management of the spare parts inventory, ensuring the availability of parts necessary for the maintenance and repair of equipment. This role involves the efficient processes, and systems to ensure effective planning, receipt, storage, and distribution of parts, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. The role will work closely with maintenance and operations teams to support their needs and ensure minimal downtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Planning: Planning storage requirements for project and service-related spare parts. This includes preparing storage areas and facilities for the delivery of spares to site, assisting in the definition of spare parts requirements, and planning and defining any special storage requirements for spare parts. Interfacing with Project managers of new sites to setup facilities to manage spares for effective delivery of the site. Working as a quality gate to ensure suitable delivery and handover from Project delivery to meet spares requirements and implementing/managing an inventory management platform for effective control of spare parts.
2. Safety and Compliance: Safety and compliance measures ensure that the warehouses operate in compliance with health and safety regulations. Regular safety audits and risk assessments are conducted. Safety protocols and procedures are implemented and enforced. Compliance is ensured with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Inventory Management: Inventory management involves managing the inventory of spare parts, ensuring optimal levels to meet maintenance and repair needs. The storage and maintenance of spare parts are managed, ensuring they are stored safely and efficiently to the manufacturer’s requirements. Regular inventory audits are conducted, and any discrepancies are reconciled. Inventory management systems and practices are developed and implemented. Any storage maintenance that is required is overseen and managed.
4. Space and Equipment Management: Space and equipment management involves optimising the use of warehouse/storage space and layout. Goods are ensured to be stored in an organised and efficient manner. The warehouse’s physical infrastructure and equipment are managed. Expertise is provided on the specifications associated with a spare’s storage facility.
5. Logistics and Transportation: Logistics and transportation involve coordinating and overseeing the logistics of inbound and outbound shipments. The distribution of parts to various departments or locations is coordinated as needed. Work is done with transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
6. Record Keeping and Reporting: Record keeping and reporting involve maintaining accurate records and of inventory levels, parts usage, and replenishment activities. Reports are generated on inventory status, usage patterns, and lead times. Inventory management software is used to track and manage parts.
7. Continuous Improvement: Continuous improvement involves identifying opportunities to improve the spare parts management process and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and availability. Best practices and innovative solutions are implemented to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Staying updated on industry trends and advancements in inventory management is important. The management of a centralised warehouse as well a remote site storage facilities is required.

Qualifications:
·        Qualifications in logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
·        Proven experience in warehouse and inventory management in a technical or industrial setting.
·        Strong knowledge of spare parts management processes.
·        Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
·        Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
·        Strong reporting, communication and interpersonal abilities.
·        Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
·        Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
 
Working Conditions:
Warehouse environment with occasional office work.
Working on Battery Energy Storage Sites is expected.
Travel will be required to other company locations.
