Responsibilities:
Triaging security alerts and events from various log sources. Conduct analysis of network traffic and output from various network-centric technologies. Develop Incident Response Playbooks, perform proactive threat hunts based on threat intelligence gathered. Develop SOAR playbooks, automate routine processes, create, or enhance detection and response capabilities. o Provide technical expertise in creating innovative solutions within the cybersecurity space Develop and implement automations in response to security incidents Proactively collaborating, developing, and designing security orchestrations with SMEs/engineers, vendors, and project stakeholders Ability to navigate and adapt to a fast-paced ever-changing environment with a team of likeminded, cross-functional individualsQualifications:
Field(s) of study: Digital Forensics, Cyber or Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university. Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD) Able to commit to working for 12 weeks. Ability to work effectively independently and in a fast-paced work environment. Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Go and PowerShell) for automation and analysis. Working knowledge of scripting languages Bash and PowerShell. Working knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, or Node.js Working knowledge in API development/consumption o Fundamental understanding of networking protocols (OSI Layers, TCP/IP, DNS), experience with traffic analysis tools is a bonus (e.g. Wireshark). Cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, Google, or Azure) Knowledge of ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack, Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK), Kafka, Beats, and/or Splunk o Comfortable with Linux, experience operating and investigating incidents in *NIX environments. Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.Programming Information:
Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules. Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in person. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable. Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization. Relocation: One round trip flight to the assigned work location from/to permanent residence.
