As the Intern, Powertrain Project Manager you will assist in building out new manufacturing processes, in relation to production and efficiency. This position requires an enthusiastic engineer with passion and experience to develop and test Mechanical parts. Responsibilities: Launch GA Phase 2 process and help stabilize and handover to sustaining team. Work on defining process and equipment for Alpha/Beta/RC Builds of new products. Working cross functionally with engineers, program managers, and maintenance teams. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise and find quick resolutions. Actively support the Factory acceptance testing (FAT) and Site acceptance testing (SAT) phases (including equipment failure analysis). Work extensively in DELMIA and CATIA. Provide regular status updates to team, and management. Build out program schedules, looking at where we are in the different builds, identifying any issues, performing root cause analysis, and presenting your findings with suggestions on areas of improvement.
Qualifications: Field(s) of Study: Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university. Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD) Previous experience with planning and forecasting project timelines. Ability to create clear concise workflows. Ability to effectively communicate in a fast paced, cross collaborative working environment. 3D CAD experience.Technical critical thinking skills. Previous automotive industry experience, or part of teams such as FSAE, Baja, etc. Can-do attitude. Self-starter.
Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Casa Grande, AZ and is fully in person. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
Relocation: One round trip flight to the assigned work location from/to permanent residence.
Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
