As the Intern, Launch Manufacturing Engineer you will assist in building out new BIW manufacturing processes, in relation to production and efficiency. This position requires an enthusiastic engineer with passion and experience to develop and test Mechanical parts. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

You Will:
Demonstrate the ability to lead technical efforts of teams engaged in complex equipment engineering development Develop manufacturing process for Body in White lines Prepare and procure all items for station readiness for Body in White line launches Able to work cross-functionally with all disciplines involved in specifying and engineering Body in White equipment Work collaboratively with the project team on all stages of Body in White line development from conception to launch Ability to efficiently implement engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment based on product design changes Utilize analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar certifications/ disciplines Use of 3D modeling and simulations to validate equipment designs Familiarity with equipment control systems, equipment I/Os and basic machine coding logic Work with layout engineering to prepare and optimize Body in White line layouts Experience working with the following equipment: robotics, end of arm tooling, pick and place automation, position sensors, material handling, fluid dispensing, deflection analysis, vision systems, conveyor and laser cleaning/ metrology You Bring:
Field(s) of Study: Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university. Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD) Strong Interposal Skills with ability to Coordinate cross functional teams and deliver target initiatives. Previous working experience in the automotive Body in White equipment design/ sustaining Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments. Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company. Working knowledge of CAD software such as: AutoCAD, Catia, and Delmi Programming Information:
Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules. Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in person. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.Relocation: One round trip flight to the assigned work location from/to permanent residence.
