Responsibilities
Provide overall process engineering support through the product life cycleDevelopment of robotic and manual production processes by applying knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling and materialsWork closely with the product design team & Involvement in the early stages of product development life cycle and provide directions of design for robofacturingWork with cross-functional teams to establish production concepts, select joining technology and optimise Robofacturing efficiencyDesign reviews and feasibility study of means of production and provide technical feedback to product design teamsSupport and lead virtual build events, raising and managing issuesProvide technical and business justification during the production process creationQuality planning and analysis for Robofacturing (PFMEA)Planning, development and implementation of robotic processes for prototype build and production. Ensure relevant Robofacturing process KPI is achieved (Cycle time, Product quality, cost, facility utilisation, line balance etc)Support production process management with creation of Bill of Process, Manufacturing Bill of Material, Work instruction, Bill of Equipment, Equipment Cost DatabaseSupport tooling development in a production lifecycle management environmentEstablish project timeline and milestones, ensure project is delivered on time and on targetRobotic cell process design, tooling concept development, equipment selection, layout creation and optimisationTechnical specification creation, facility procurement, delivery management, support of facility install and commissioningSupport Arrival’s Robofacturing research and development activities, creating innovative Robofacturing solutionsSupport product launch activities provide onsite supportCreate close working relationships with Product Design Team, Simulation Engineering, Quality engineering, Tooling Design, Joining Engineering, PLM, Robot programmers, Automotive and Controls, as well as supporting the R&D team for new software developmentBe flexible and creative with process development and delivery. Able to manage product updates and provide solutions in relative short timingEssential skills:
Experience of working in an Automated production environmentExperience of working in a new product introduction process developmentExperience in MBOM development (EBOM to MBOM)Experience in cycle time (production volume) planingExperience in equipment utilisation studiesGood understanding of assembly principles; Familiarity with Robotic and manual processes and equipment and joining technologiesDemonstrate experience of advancing from concept to mature solutionGood use of statistical tools for issue analysis and problem-solvingDesirable:
SIEMENS NX experience (basic knowledge)SIEMENS TC MPP environment experienceUnderstanding of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, extrusion, die casting, 3D printing, composites manufacturing, additive manufacturing
