The Group Manager manages a team of Global Supply Chain Managers, and oversees all indirect purchasing including marketing, facility, professional services, and IT.  The role is a key internal interface with all stakeholders to support key company initiatives, manage indirect spend strategically and deliver cost savings to the enterprise. 
We are currently seeking a Indirect Purchasing Group Manager (China). The Group Manager manages a team of Global Supply Managers and oversees all company business in indirect purchasing.  Indirect purchasing covers facility, IT, marketing, professional services, retail, manufacturing, and construction.  The role is a key internal interface with project managers, engineering, finance, and Manufacturing to deliver world class products on time and cost effectively. The Group Manager must identify, develop, and manage the global Supply Chain for their team and manage against the overall Supply Chain team and company priorities. He or she will help establish our global supply chain strategy, support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout our growth in China and APAC regions.

You will as a function of yourself or the team:

  • Setup supply chain and purchasing system and process for China
  • Manage and mentor a team of supply chain professionals
  • Be the key escalation point for your team, and provide guidance to Lucid management
  • Present upward status of objectives, strategies, and remedies to issues
  • Define the Sourcing strategies for your team, own decisions and resolutions, and ensure the team is closing all applicable program and purchasing metrics
  • Support team to thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts
  • Define supplier development actions and review supplier schedules
  • Maintain overall supplier relationships and act as point of contact for all commercial issues, including internal report-outs summarizing sourcing status, parts availability and cost status
  • Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers to perform business and program reviews
  • You bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, supply chain or finance discipline, MBA a plus
  • 7 -10 years Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering experience on focused commodities with experience managing a team of direct reports
  • Understanding in key manufacturing processes supporting the commodity
  • Product launch experience from design to production
  • Understanding of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis. Able to drive teams and garner executive support to resolve problems
  • Coaching and mentoring acumen – a drive for the success and growth of your team
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem solving skills. Passion for results, strategy, and hands on execution. Creative, calculated risk taker with the ability to manage difficult suppliers and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal staff
  • Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
  • Proficient in Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
  • Ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively
