We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Inbound Transportation Analyst to support inbound logistics operations in a production manufacturing environment. This role focuses on transportation data analysis, planning support, shipment visibility, and supplier readiness, while also supporting ad-hoc transportation needs as required.
The Inbound Transportation Analyst will partner closely with Inventory Planners, Suppliers, and Logistics partners to ensure transportation plans are executable, data is accurate and complete, and shipments are tracked effectively through SAP Transportation Management (TM). This role also supports customs compliance activities and serves as a backup for import and export shipments.
In this role, you will:
Analyze inbound transportation data to support production transportation planning, shipment prioritization, and capacity alignment.Support planning and execution of ad-hoc inbound and outbound shipments.Partner with Inventory Planners to align transportation plans with material availability, production schedules, and build priorities.Assess supplier shipping readiness by reviewing lead times, documentation completeness, and historical performance data.Maintain accurate and timely shipment data in SAP Transportation Management (TM) to ensure end-to-end visibility and reliable reporting.Monitor in-transit shipments and analyze risks or trends that may impact delivery performance or production continuity.Collect, validate, and analyze transportation KPIs (on-time delivery, lead time variance, cost, supplier compliance).Support freight spend analysis, lane performance reviews, and carrier performance reporting.Identify data gaps, process inefficiencies, and system issues impacting transportation planning or visibility.Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and insights to support decision-making.Support import and export compliance activities through data validation, documentation review, and serving as a backup for import and export-related shipments.Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal compliance teams to ensure accurate data submission and regulatory adherence.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on transportation analytics, data quality, and planning effectiveness.
Travel: up to 25% may be required (including international travel)
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in transportation analytics, logistics planning, or supply chain analysis within a manufacturing or production environment.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Analytics, or a related field.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret transportation data and translate it into actionable insights.Experience working with SAP Transportation Management (TM) or similar transportation systems.Experience with inbound transportation processes, carrier management, and shipment lifecycle.Knowledge of freight spend modeling, lane optimization, or carrier scorecarding.Experience with import/export and customs compliance.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.Bonus Qualifications
Experience supporting production or manufacturing planning teams.Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA integration and master data concepts.Experience building dashboards or automated reports (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools).Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering
