About Vertical
We are breaking the boundaries and pushing our commitment to the EVTOL world by changing the way the world travels. Our mission is powered by pioneers and progress is our prerogative.
Here at Vertical, we are developing the UK’s first fully electric, vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), the VX4. With zero-operating emissions. Vertical is transforming the way people travel by offering a faster, safer, and greener way to move.
More about the team you will be joining as the IPT Lead for HV/LV system design:
The HV/LV team is a small (4) group of engineers responsible for the design, testing, installation and operation of the HV distribution and the LV system on the aircraft. You will lead this team and be expected to work along side the battery, electric propulsion and EWIS teams in delivering a fully integrated powertrain system to our VX4 aircraft, from prototype to the fully certified vehicle.
My Impact as the IPT Lead for HV/LV system design:
The high voltage system comprised of the battery, and EPU's is connected via the power distribution systems. You will also take responsibility for delivering low voltage (28V) power to the aircraft, ownership of the components of this LV power and its design. In this role you will have the opportunity to own the design, testing, installation and operation of those two systems in a completely novel application. You will have the opportunity to provide the first certified high-voltage safe design for such an aircraft, in the world, and therefore get to work and deliver on some incredibly complicated, novel and interesting challenges along the way.
What success will look like for the IPT Lead for HV/LV system design:
Deliver the architecture design, testing and qualification evidence for the HV and LV power distribution systems at the lowest mass whilst meeting all safety requirements on time.
Everything sounds very interesting but how do I know I have the right qualifications and experiences for this role?
