What you’ll do:

  • Develop human factors requirements for aircraft design that impact occupants, as well as service, maintenance, and manufacturing personnel
  • Complete Function Allocation Matrix
  • Ensure human factors and ergonomics requirements are implemented throughout the aircraft and associated manufacturing, maintenance, and servicing processes
  • Plan, execute, and document human machine interface and ergonomic evaluations in the physical mock-up, flight simulator, and flight test aircraft for development and certification
  • Design displays and controls within the flight deck
  • Conduct human error analyses for pilot and maintenance tasks
  • Execute and document ergonomic analyses using Siemens’ Jack Human Simulation and Process Simulate software packages
  • Collaborate with engineering, flight operations, industrial design, and certification groups to plan and perform required development and certification activities

What you need:

  • 10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
  • 10+ years of human factors experience
  • Experience with flight deck design
  • Experience with FAA airworthiness certification flight test programs and requirements
  • Experience planning, conducting, and documenting Multi-Pilot System Usability Evaluations 
  • Experience writing certification test plans and reports
  • Experience leading a small team of human factors engineers
  • BS in Human Factors, Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, guidance, and industry standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with human modeling software for static and dynamic motions (e.g., Siemens’ Jack Human Simulation and Process Simulate)
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 23 aircraft regulations and ASTMs
  • Experience with manufacturing task design and analysis
  • Experience with maintenance task design and analysis
  • Experience with aircraft cabin design
  • MS in Human Factors, Engineering, or related field
