About the company:

Carbon Clean is the point-source carbon capture expert, driving the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries for more than 15 years. The company is eliminating the barriers of cost and space through its breakthrough modular CycloneCC technology, which cuts the total installed cost and overall physical footprint by up to 50% compared with conventional solutions. 

· Lead the implementation, governance, and enforcement of Carbon Clean’s global and local HSE policies, SOPs, permit systems, and safe work practices across the Global Innovation Centre (GIC) and Pilot Plant.

· Authorized to suspend operations, isolate energy sources, and initiate emergency response in case of imminent danger to life, property, or environment.

· Available to support emergency response and statutory requirements beyond normal working hours as required

· Ensure effective implementation of Work Permit System, LOTO procedures, PPE requirements, task-based risk control,

· Ensure full compliance with Factories Act, Maharashtra Factory Rules, and applicable safety regulations.

· Sole custodian and accountable owner of the statutory legal register, including applicability evaluation, update management, and compliance closure tracking.

· Statutory Compliance (Indian Factory Act & Maharashtra Factory Rules)

· Environmental Management (CPCB / MPCB / Hazardous Waste)

· Fire & Emergency Systems working knowledge and conducting Mock drills.

· Responsible for Contractor Compliance, Safety & OHC

· Responsible for Incident Management & Investigations

· Implementation of National Safety Council (NSC) Programs

· Monitor, track, and report HSE performance metrics and KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement

· HSE Trainings, Toolbox Talks & Awareness

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

· Mandatory certification: ADIS / PDIS from a state-recognized institute.

· Minimum 5–7 years of relevant HSE experience post ADIS/PDIS certification, including at least 5 years in factories or industrial establishments governed under the Factories Act.

· Strong proficiency in English and local languages (Hindi / Marathi).

· Ability to communicate effectively across all levels, including shop-floor personnel, contractors, management, and regulatory authorities.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and training delivery skills.

· Proven experience in chemical manufacturing, pilot plant, or R&D facility environments.

· Hands-on experience in dealing with regulatory authorities and managing statutory inspections.

· In-depth knowledge of:

- Indian Factories Act and Maharashtra Factory Rules

- CPCB / MPCB environmental regulations

- Hazardous Waste Management Rules

· Exposure to global / UK HSE standards and best practices will be considered an advantage.

· This is a full-time, on-site role, requiring presence at the workplace on all working days.

· Flexibility to work extended hours during audits, inspections, incidents, or plant shutdowns.

· Expected to maintain a strong field presence across plant and facility areas to ensure effective HSE implementation and monitoring.
