Overview

Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy company on a mission to deliver a terawatt of clean energy globally. We are creating a fully integrated energy system: from developing utility-scale solar and wind projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Heat Pump Lead to head our domestic heat pump installation engineering operations in the UK. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our heat pump installation capability, managing our engineering team structure, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery as we roll out air-source heat pumps across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage our UK heat pump installation operations, supervising a team of junior and senior field engineers.
  • Act as the primary technical authority for domestic heat pump installs, handling complex technical escalations and ensuring field engineering decisions remain robust and compliant.
  • Own heating system design and sizing, including heat loss calculations and the correct selection of heat pumps, pipework, radiators/emitters, and hot water cylinders for each property.
  • Establish and refine robust quality assurance frameworks, review processes, and field audits to maintain an elite standard of installation quality.
  • Overhaul and manage the onboarding, continuous training, and monitoring programs to ensure our entire installing fleet is highly qualified and compliant.
  • Oversee installations and commissioning in line with manufacturer specifications, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations, MCS standards, and health and safety policies.
  • Coordinate the electrical scope of each install with qualified electricians, ensuring all electrical work is properly certified (EIC) and compliant.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support the development and rollout of our next-generation hardware and product specifications.
  • Own our heat pump accreditation strategy, maintaining our MCS compliance and developing the processes, documentation, and training required to expand and audit our approved installer network.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence and safety across the entire engineering division.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting domestic air-source heat pump systems (ducted or split), including removing existing gas boilers, pipework, and radiators.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing and heating systems, with the ability to perform heat loss calculations and design and size low-temperature heating systems.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Domestic Heating, G3 unvented cylinder qualification, and Water Regulations certification.
  • Ability to coordinate the electrical scope with qualified electricians and ensure proper EIC certification, whether carried out by team members or subcontractors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK heating and water regulations, health and safety protocols, and MCS compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and maintain high performance under tight timelines.
  • Full UK driving license.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with performance-related bonuses.
  • Meaningful equity options in a fast-growing energy company.
  • Full-time, stable employment in a rapidly growing sector.
  • Company vehicle, fuel expenses, and top-tier tools/equipment provided.
  • Opportunities for professional development and additional advanced certifications.
  • The chance to work alongside a world-class team building the future of the global energy grid.
