Head of Integrated Test

We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</span></p></div><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lead the Integrated Test Team for an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft supporting FAA Type Certificate approval to product launch</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oversight and management of integrated lab and ground test activities including (but not limited to): system integration labs, Iron Bird, propulsion system test, avionics test and simulation, and aircraft bring-up test to support the aircraft development and compliance activities</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interface with internal and external engineering teams to establish test plans and procedures, and execute aircraft-level verification and compliance testing&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Own and drive high-level test planning</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lead test lab development and planning activities including test equipment selection</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Execute development, company, and certification testing to show compliance with FAA TypeCertification Plans, Issue Papers, Equivalent Levels of Safety, and/or Special Conditions.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Assist with outreach to the FAA on eVTOL specific testing requirements.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Build an integrated instrumentation team responsible for designing and sourcing all items required for ground and aircraft based instrumentation systems.&nbsp; This includes, but is not limited to strain gauge, accelerometer, and thermocouple definition, instrumentation wiring, instrumentation hardware such as racks and data acquisition systems.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Need</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">10+ years of industry test experience</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">BS, MS, or PhD in engineering</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">5+ years prior experience in an engineering or test leadership role</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience working on type certification test programs of from early phases to issue of a type certificate under 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/29/33/35 or equivalent regulations</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Prior experience on certification projects with significant software and complex hardware elements</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with environmental testing per DO-160G</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Deep understanding of aircraft system development per SAE ARP4754A&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">US citizenship or permanent residency required </span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with type certification involving Special Conditions</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Knowledgeable on SAE ARP4761</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">5+ years of experience in experimental flight test</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience working with regulatory agencies to certify aircraft features or functionality by test and analysis which are not covered by existing regulations</span></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><h5><span style="font-weight: 400;">Archer is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
