ICON is seeking a Hardware Engineering Operations Lead to drive initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our Mechanical Engineering team. The Hardware Engineering Operations Lead will interface with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics (OKRs), dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiatives in support of ICON’s mission of making dignified housing accessible to everyone and advancing humanity with our technology. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to the Director of Hardware in the Mechanical Engineering department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of metrics definition, tracking, root cause analysis, and training.
  • Develop new operating processes, procedures, and training aimed at improving ICON's current and overall efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of headcount planning.
  • Provide time tracking and financial reporting for engineering functions.
  • Build monthly performance reports and deliver reports to the Director of Hardware.
  • Develop planning methodologies and track engineering performance.
  • Perform analysis to identify efficiency gains.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of working experience in engineering operations and planning.
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience working in an industrial and field environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and solution based mindset.
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills.
