About the position:
 
Location: UK, Ireland (Hybrid)
 
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Control specialist to join our team in the UK or Rep. of Ireland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Health & Safety control processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards are maintained across our operations. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing Health & Safety control procedures, conducting inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement, and providing guidance and training to team members. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proven track record of implementing effective Health & Safety control measures in a manufacturing or production environment. Excellent communication and leadership abilities are essential for this role, as the Health & Safety Control specialist will collaborate closely with various departments to drive continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to delivering superior Health & Safety products and services. Your tasks and responsibilities:
 
Act as a Health & Safety Project specialist, ensuring Health & Safety Planning activities are properly performed on-time according development project timelines
Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess risks in the workplace.
Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and protocols to address identified risks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Providing training and awareness programs to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition.
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborating with management and employees to address safety concerns, promote safe work practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitoring and analyzing safety performance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance safety performance.
Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
Serving as a resource and advisor to management and employees on health and safety matters, providing guidance and support as needed.
Participating in emergency preparedness and response activities, including developing emergency response plans and conducting drills and exercises.
 
Your profile
 
A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, Health & Safety management, or a related discipline.

Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety, or equivalent) preferred.

Previous experience in Health & Safety within manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry (minimum 10 years).

Experience with Health & Safety management systems (HSMS) is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of Health & Safety control techniques, tools, and methodologies, including health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices applicable to the UK and Rep. of ireland, root cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques.

Familiarity with Health & Safety management standards such as ISO 45001 is advantageous.

Fluent in English language. German or other European languages are a plus.

Proficient in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Possess a valid residence in UK or Rep. of Ireland.

Possess a valid driving license.

Good verbal and written communication skills and work independently and carefully.

Availability to travel 70% of the time in UK, Rep. of Ireland and Nord Europe (Denmark, Sweden, Finland)
