The Growth Strategy Manager is responsible for the design and operationalization of strategic plans at Pivot Bio.  In this role, you will report to the Head of Growth and work interactively across functions on projects most critical to the company’s success.  Project topics are likely to cover the full spectrum of the company’s operations, including internal efforts to improve processes and external efforts that engage investors or potential partners.  The Growth Strategy Manager is a proactive problem solver who is comfortable in ambiguity, strategic in nature, and rolls up their sleeves to answer hard questions.  Experience driving some or all of financial and strategic modeling, market research, design research, due diligence, and blue-sky strategy projects.

This role will be Hybrid in Wayzata, MN or St. Louis, MO.

Essential functions 

  • Work cross functionally to build strategic plans in areas such as customer experience, digital strategy, and go to market  
  • Operationalize strategic plans by collaborating with Product, Marketing, and Commercial teams to implement growth initiatives and support ongoing programs  
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, industry landscape analysis, and customer research to identify new potential growth initiatives 
  • Develop financial strategies and investor relations materials that enhance the company’s potential for future growth  
  • Work with international market teams (Brazil) to help refine the Long Range Plan and go to market strategies, based on learnings from the market 

Competencies 

Knowledge & Application 

  • Market research and sources of data 
  • Financial or strategy modeling  
  • Design research and user experience mapping a bonus 
  • Industry experience in Agriculture is not required but will help the candidate onboard quickly; analogous industry exposure in areas like life sciences and pharma is nice to have  

Complexity & Problem Solving 

  • Expert problem solver with relentless need to ask “Why” 
  • High comfort in ambiguity 
  • Ability to create frameworks to solve complex problems and distill them to their basic components 

Collaboration & Interaction 

  •  High – all Growth projects are cross-functional in nature and the Growth Strategy Manager should expect to work across Commercial, Product, Digital, Business Development, and other functions with regularity

  • None  

 

Required education and experience 

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field; MBA preferred 
  • 5-8 years of related experience 

Travel:

  • 35% Travel required
