Frontend Engineer

ICON is looking for a passionate, user-focused developer with experience building enterprise level applications. As a Frontend Engineer at ICON, you will be part of the team designing and building the customer facing interfaces that are enabling ICON to transform the housing industry. This role reports to Head of Software Development and is based in our Austin, TX lab. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure interactive and visual designs achieve the highest level of usability, desirability and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with user interface designers, development team members, and internal partners to build interfaces.
• Deliver interfaces with a focus on testability and composability.
• Communicate clearly with partners and be able to translate customer needs into product concepts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Understanding of advanced JavaScript and Typescript.
• Experience with at least one major JS library/framework (React preferred).
• Fluent in CSS/SCSS.
• Familiarity with Atomic Design development principles.
• Proficient with JSON, JSONP, AJAX, and GraphQL.
• Experience managing other technical team members on large projects.
• An ability to learn and develop skills.
• An ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both in-person and written.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• React, Redux, and RxJs experience.
• Node.js and TypeScript experience, with a functional programming approach.
• Flutter, React Native, or Android development experience.
• Experience with SVG, WebGL or Canvas animation.
• Experience with ThreeJS or other browser based 3D rendering engines.
• PostgreSQL, GraphQL experience.
• Modern CI/CD workflows: GitHub, Jenkins, Travis, etc.
• Familiarity with Atomic Design principles.
