Position:  Freeze Dry Operations Manager

Reports to:  Senior Director, Biomanufacturing

Location:  St. Louis, Missouri

We are looking for a dynamic operations leader to help establish a new production site which will be instrumental in changing the future of agriculture.  As a critical member of our Biomanufacturing team you will lead the St. Louis site operations team and create a positive and entrepreneurial culture. With a passion for quality, the environment, health, and safety (QEH&S), you will build a high performing team and operate a best-in-class biomanufacturing facility.

Responsibilities: 

  • Site leadership in ensuring QEH&S as a top priority in all operations activities
  • Hiring, training, supervision, and retention of manufacturing staff
  • Developing process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions and training records
  • Ensuring all team members are properly trained for every activity
  • Developing and managing production schedules
  • Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and establishing contracts needed with 3rd party engineering and maintenance services
  • Maintaining best in class facility hygiene and cleanliness
  • Establishing and leading a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

Qualifications and Experience 

  • BS (Engineering, Sciences, or mathematics preferred) or other degree with relevant technical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in a production environment (food, pharmaceutical or chemical preferred) with a proven track record of success in a supervisory role
  • Experience working with biological products preferred
  • Experience working with freeze dried or powder products preferred
  • Must be willing to work night shifts and on weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and ability to perform extensive work on a computer
  • Some travel to equipment providers and other Pivot sites
