The Role:

As a Remote Pilot (RP) you will be involved in experimental work within the Lilium Flight Test Team, at the ATLAS site, in Spain.  You will report directly to the Chief Test Pilot.

You will be responsible for supporting the development of the, Phoenix, technology demonstrator, remotely piloted, aircraft.  Duties include, VLOS and BVLOS operations.  Together with the FTE team, you will participate in the preparation of flights, involving developing and practising required test profiles using relevant simulation, developing test cards, participation in pre/post briefing, flights, and writing test results documentation. In this role, you will also contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards, proposing solutions to complex problems which require regular use of creativity and innovative thinking.

Your Day to Day:

  • Conduct development tests, on ground and in flight, to assure the test aircraft complies with company requirements.
  • Assure that all activities are strictly performed within a safe environment and also contribute to improve safety aspects inside the company.
  • Establish a proper liaison within the Flight Test Department
  • Contribute to Safety Analysis and Risk Assessments for different types of tests.
  • Identify, monitor, and bring to satisfactory resolution issues identified during testing.
  • Coordinate flight test program activities under the direction of the Head of Flight Test.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 Your Profile:

  • CPL (IR) either fixed or rotary wing
  • Minimum 1000 hours fixed and/or rotary wing flight time required.
  • Excellent team player.
  • High level of self-motivation, with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential.

Other Requirements

  • Candidate must qualify for an EASA Part-MED 1st Class Medical.
  • RC model and/or RPAS flight experience very beneficial.
  • BVLOS operational experience very beneficial
