The Role
The Rivian Tech Trainee Program is building the Service team of the future to keep our world adventurous forever. Become a Trainee for a deep dive into what it takes to service and prepare our Electric Adventure Vehicles to be delivered to our customers as you work and attend school. Field Service technicians have the opportunity to work cross functionally with both manufacturing as well as service teams. Learn the latest electric vehicle technologies inside the classroom and put those theories into practice with hands-on training at the Rivian service centers. Upon the successful completion of your six month program, you will receive your Automotive Light Repair Certification and grow your career into the skilled trades.
Responsibilities
- Attend 100% of scheduled lectures and labs
- Attend 100% of in person training exercises
- Maintain 3.0 GPA throughout the school year
- Balance a combined 40-hour schedule between class and on the job training
- Assist Rivian Service Technicians with repairs, troubleshooting, and vehicle maintenance
- Improve efficiency in service procedures without compromising quality and safety of the repair
- Pass all exams and complete all assignments
- Complete all Course Curricula Objectives
- Demonstrate Rivian’s Compass Principles Daily: Come Together, Ask Why, Stay Open, Zoom Out, Over Deliver
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Automotive Technology Degree, Certificate, or at least 2 years relevant work experience
- Basic Knowledge of Electrical Systems
- Willingness to relocate to any of our markets across the United States after program completion
- Basic computer skills, including navigating web browser and using standard Microsoft applications.
- Ability to lift 60lbs
- No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years
- No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years
- Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle
- Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring
- Fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus (proof required)
