YOUR IMPACT
As an FEA analyst, you will significantly contribute to the mechanical design of different subsystems at Proxima Fusion. You will work hand-in-hand with mechanical designers to iterate on concepts and bring home the target level of performance. Proxima Fusion prides itself in heavily leveraging an in-house, simulation-driven framework aimed at assessing feasibility and complexity of integrated machine concepts. You will join a highly motivated group of engineers using various numerical methods for different physics in order to optimize the machine as a whole, with your primary focus on structural and thermal FEA.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Work with the material engineering team to identify critical gaps in the cryogenic material database for FEA simulations and contribute to the development characterization of novel manufacturing methods.
Propose 1D/2D models and analysis to efficiently capture key behavior and inform large-scale optimization.
Full-blown 3D analysis on detailed designs to evaluate structural and thermal attributes in preparation for final design reviews.
Develop and implement best practices, workflows and overall modelling strategy.
WHO YOU ARE
A high performer who loves challenges and is not afraid to experiment, take risks and learn from mistakes.
An experienced FEA analyst with high attention to detail and proficiency in a commercial structural/thermal FEA package.
Knowledgeable about fundamental FEA concepts (e.g. non-linear materials, solver convergence, contact modelling).
Highly analytical with the ability to carry out back-of-the-envelope sensitivity analysis and implement reduced order models.
A strong collaborator with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, proactive in identifying and addressing engineering challenges.
Experienced with Python and automation as bonus.
