Thea Energy is building an economical and scalable fusion energy system utilizing arrays of mass manufacturable magnets and dynamic software controls. Commercial fusion energy can uniquely provide a abundant source of zero-emission power for a sustainable future. Thea Energy is leveraging recent breakthroughs in computation and controls to reinvent the stellarator, a scientifically mature form of magnetic fusion technology. Thea Energy was founded in 2022 as a spin-out of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and Princeton University, where the stellarator was originally invented. Thea Energy is currently designing its first integrated fusion system, Eos, based on its planar coil stellarator architecture which will produce fusion neutrons at scale and in steady-state.

Position Overview:
Thea Energy is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Facilities Manager to oversee the physical infrastructure required to build the future of fusion energy. This candidate will interact with the Company’s leadership, finance & operations, and technical teams to ensure our labs, production floor, and offices are safe, efficient, and scalable. This role will have a high degree of autonomy, and the ideal candidate must be able to move quickly to support our rapid growth.

Key Responsibility Areas:
Manage day-to-day facility operations including building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems for both office and high-tech lab environmentsEnsure all equipment is maintained, with preventative maintenance plans in place for all critical assetsPlan and execute facility modifications and expansions to support hiring and installation of manufacturing and test equipmentManage vendor relationships, service contracts, and facility budgetsDevelop expansion plans to account for company growth, working with real estate brokers and negotiating leases for additional spaceCoordinate with other organization stakeholders to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulationsManage and develop company policies, programs, and procedures regarding space planning and asset managementLead space allocation planning for a growing teamIdeal Experience & Skillsets:
7+ years of relevant work experience in facilities management, preferably in an R&D, or manufacturing environment.Experience managing complex electrical infrastructure and laboratory / manufacturing build-outs. Experience with high vacuum systemsProven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritiesOSHA 30hr Certification and a strong safety focusAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.Ability to find creative solutions to physical infrastructure problems.Excellent negotiation, communication, and collaboration skillsCompany Benefits:
