Join the EWIS team as EWIS IPT Lead

What will you be doing?

The Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) team is part of Vertical's Powertrain organisation and is responsible for the design and integration of the aircraft wiring systems across the aircraft. This includes conventional Low Voltage systems as well as novel High Voltage systems to enable our all-electric powertrain. We work closely with our Motor, Battery and Power Distribution teams to deliver an integrated Powertrain system for our VX4 aircraft.  

The team consists of highly experienced EWIS engineers from various aerospace backgrounds, bringing their knowledge and expertise together to define the best solutions for the aircraft as a whole. We work in conjunction with all aircraft systems and structural teams from initial concepts through to interface management, detailed design, harness manufacture and installation; all the way through to aircraft commissioning and flight testing.   

Vertical is seeking an experienced EWIS engineer and people leader to support the EWIS team as it navigates development and certification of its VX4 aircraft. You will provide the necessary support for planning, budgeting, and resource management to enable the team to achieve their objectives. You will also support the development of the team and its members to achieve their individual potential and ensure we build a world class capability for EWIS design. 

What success will look like for the EWIS IPT Lead 

The EWIS IPT Lead has the opportunity to lead and develop a world class EWIS team as we design and certify our VX4 aircraft and beyond. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Short and Long Term planning to meet business needs and build the team capability  
  • Resource and Budget management
  • Liaison with our design and/or manufacturing partners
  • Support the development of the team
  • Represent the EWIS team, both inside and outside the company  
What would we like you to bring?
  • 5+ Years experience in EWIS/Electrical Installation Design (Aerospace desirable but not essential) 
  • Experience with Low voltage distribution systems 
  • Experience leading small/medium size teams 
  • Proactive 
  • Energetic 
  • Very organised 
  • Able to work with suppliers and other company stakeholders
